    ABOUT THE EVENT

Artificial intelligence is revolutionising financial services, automating basic processes while driving efficient product personalisation. However, as executives are demanding innovation to retain and capture markets, the landscape of threats is expanding exponentially. AI’s reliance on extensive datasets is heightening the risk of breaches and reputational damage for financial institutions. Bad actors are launching sophisticated attacks, committing deepfake-enabled fraud, and manipulating machine learning models, triggering AI hallucinations.

Regulators are tightening expectations in response, pressuring financial institutions to adopt multi-layered defences in light of the EU AI Act and Europe’s Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA). AI systems should be secure by design to avoid algorithmic biases and thwart security attacks, while company-wide AI literacy ensures accountability and collective vigilance against red flags. AI can bolster human capabilities in defence by anonymising sensitive data, detecting anomalies, and freeing security teams to focus on more sophisticated threats.

Hosted by The Banker in partnership with Salesforce, this breakfast roundtable will convene technology executives from financial services firms looking to fortify their businesses with secure and compliant data in readiness for AI. Following Chatham House Rule, participants will discuss strategies to build operational resilience in the face of the ever-evolving technology landscape and data security threats.

    Roundtable Participants:

Matthew O’Neill, Field Chief Technology Officer, Salesforce

    More participants confirmed soon.

Moderator: Chris Newlands, Deputy Editor, The Banker
